Apple has a record quarter.

13.1 Billion in profits off of 46.3 Billion in sales! This all happened one quarter after the death of their co-founder Steve Jobs. Majority of the sales coming off the back of their iPhone and iPad product lines.
Just to give you an idea of what these sales mean in relation to other U.S. companies.

  • Apple brought in more than 3 times what GE made in profits for the same period
  • In the 3rd quarter of 2008 Exxonmobile corp. made 14.8 billion in sales, but they needed to make 140 Billion in revenue to hit that magic number

Profits like this will make it hard for other smart phone manufacturers to catch up with Apple and it’s gigantic lead in device market share.
