Ye, house and electro is usually the way to go when using cdjs. You will see that the majority of house and electro djs will use cdjs, they are the most reliable cd players in the industry right now for sure. If you are looking to get into any urban music, technics 1200s (vinyl) are usually the way to go.
We use cdjs at times when playing hip hop or dancehall, but scratching on vinyl makes a big difference.
