Profile: Daniel Stolfi

GUELPH – 8:30 p.m. On October 30th, 2009, at the River Run Centre, Guelph-native Daniel Stolfi will perform his one-man show, Cancer Can’t Dance Like This, about his harrowing experience battling cancer.

Daniel StolfiIn March of 2008, Daniel Stolfi was diagnosed with Acute Non – Hodgkin’s T -Lymphoblastic Lymphoma, an aggressive form of cancer that would need equally aggressive chemotherapy treatment over the following two years of his life.

While battling cancer Daniel lost his hair, his appetite, his strength and his sex drive. In Cancer Can’t Dance Like This Daniel takes the audience through a number of comedic monologues, musical numbers and character portrayals of his lost attributes to the disease. The question: can cancer out dance the dancing machine? Only time will tell.

Daniel recently performed Cancer Can’t Dance Like This at the University of Guelph and one of Toronto’s most recognized performance venues, The Second City Theatre, to a sold out audiences.

More About The Show

Andrew Ferguson, graduate of the University of Guelph’s Theatre Program, is the director of the show. He and Dan have worked together on several projects, both while in school and afterward. The pair were scheduled to mount an original play for the 2008 Toronto Fringe Festival when Dan was diagnosed. To return with a show like Cancer Can’t Dance Like This is a special thrill for them both.
